The consortium members (OMR, ISA/ULISBOA, FAEF/UEM, FCA/UniLรบrio) of the Project "A farming system approach to mainstream biodiversity into the agricultural sector: bridging between the national and local levels" (FARSYMABI Project) held the final Conference of the Project on 16th June 2025, in Maputo.
The Conference aimed at discussing how the FARSYMABI approach could help support effective implementation of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP). The objectives of the Conference were to: 1) present and discuss the research findings with key national and local stakeholders; 2) Mobilize participants for effective application of the results; and, 3) Reflect on challenges of applying the FARSYMABI approach in the Mozambican context and discuss new opportunities for future research and application.
The conference was attended by 140 people in person and 101 people online, including the public sector (with the Secretary of State for Land and Environment, Gustavo Dgedge, in representation of the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries, Roberto Mito Albino), private sector, Assembly of the Republic, non-governmental and civil society organizations, academia, local stakeholders, international agencies and organizations, embassies, banks, media, researchers, students and others.
